Hello everybody!
In this tutorial you will learn how to create simple antenna in Autodesk 3D Studio Max. For this tutorial you need some experience with this program so you must follow these steps.
First, we model our antenna, then texture it, add some lights and render it.
1. Modeling
First create cylinder in Front viewport. Set parameters displayed on picture.
Convert it to Editable poly and go to vertex mod. Select all outside vertexes and use Select and Uniform scale to move them towards middle. Select polygons displayed in picture.
Use Bevel tool and set height to 0 and outline amount to -0.6. Now use Extrude tool and set extrusion height to 1.
Select vertexes in middle and click on use soft selection. Set falloff to 240 and move them along the Y axis until you get shape displayed on picture.
Select edges displayed on picture and click on Loop. Use chamfer tool and set chamfer amount to 0.3 Put Turbosmooth modifier.
Create box in Left viewport and set parameters displayed in picture.
Convert it to Editable poly and manipulate vertexes until you get shape displayed on picture.
Select right horizontal edges and use connect. Select new polygons (look at picture) and extrude them. Set extrusion height to 10.
Now select two polygons under extrude part and use inset to make two new polygons displayed on picture.
Extrude them several times until you get shape displayed on picture.
Select all horizontal edges in middle and use connect. Polygons on bottom of large part so you get shape like displayed on picture.
